Coronavirus Resources

COVID-19 is a national public health crisis affecting North Carolina and Charlotte. See below for important updates regarding its impact on the film industry.

What You Need to Know

North Carolina is open for production. As COVID-19 trends continue to stabilize across the state, N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper announced the further easing of several restrictions under Executive Order 204, which remains in place through April 30, 2021. Visit this link for more details about current restrictions.

There are currently no quarantine requirements for those coming from out of state. Note that while Phase 3 continues to have restrictions on mass gatherings, these restrictions do not apply to production sets, as gatherings "for work" are exempt per Section 7 of Executive Order 141.

Face coverings are required to be worn in public places, both indoors and outdoors.

While there are no film-specific state guidelines or restrictions, the North Carolina Film Office and Charlotte Regional Film Commission strongly advise productions follow these guidelines:

Who to Follow

In an effort to gather all the COVID-19 related information from a wide range of state agencies, North Carolina has launched a new COVID-19 web portal at nc.gov/covid19.
